Setup
What's the best way to get started?
Choose a tracker template: Tap + in the tab bar, choose a category, then a goal or habit. Tap next arrow and adjust defaults as needed, then start tracking your progress. Since over a million people have used Strides, we've found you'll be most successful long-term if you start tracking at least three things, typically from different areas of your life, like Health, Money, Relationships, etc.

To set your own goal, tap "Create tracker" at the top.

Do you have a tutorial?
Yes, the app has (?) icons with details about specific features, and we show helpful tips as you use the app.

For help with goal setting, check out our free video course (English only).

How do I edit my tracker’s settings?
Tap it, then settings in the top right corner. Or, long-tap and choose Edit Tracker.

How do I reorder my trackers?
Long-tap any tracker, then choose Reorder Trackers. Or, select Reorder Trackers from the Settings screen.

Tracking
How do I track a Bad Habit?
Enabling the Bad Habit setting for a Habit does a few things to help:

1. You'll see its Limit in red, instead of green for a good habit's Goal.

2. Tapping the checkbox logs "No", meaning you resisted the bad habit, moving it to Done.

3. Swiping left logs "Yes", meaning you did the bad habit, which shows a red check since it's a bad behavior.

Your progress bar will start 100% full and green. As you log, the bar will shrink until you hit your limit. If you log one more Yes, it will fill red to show you went over your max. If you don't want to allow any Yes logs, set the Goal to zero.

This is all designed to help you break the bad habit. If the limit you set is too difficult, feel free to set it higher. You can also change the Start Date or tap Start Over on the Edit Tracker view to create a new goal if you want to reduce the limit until the bad habit is broken.

How does logging No work?
Swiping left to log No for a Habit will move it to the Missed section, prevent the rest of today's reminders and clear the app icon badge. It also shows that you logged No on the habit calendar.

Can I add notes to a log?

Yes. You can enter a note while logging a Target, Average or Milestones tracker. For Habit trackers, after you've added a log for today, swipe left on it to add a note. Or, you can add notes to any past logs from its History view. The Log with Notes option saves a step to add notes while logging.

How do I delete or edit a log?

To undo the last log, tap the checkbox in Done or Missed, or long-tap and choose undo.

You can also tap a date in the past and undo those logs. To see the tracker's history, long-tap it and select History, or tap History above its charts. There, you can edit the log value too.

Is there a way to skip a log?

Yes. On the Today tab, swipe left and tap Skip so it doesn't count for today.

How do I get a perfect day with weekly/monthly habits?

Set it to be Due on the days you will log, or Skip the days you don't need to do it.

How do I log on a past day?
Tap the date at the top of the Today view, then log from the Due section. Or, you can backlog from a tracker's History tab. For Habits, tap a date in its calendar chart to log on that date.

What do the green/red bars mean?
Throughout the app green means you're on track, red means you're behind pace.

What does Pace mean?
Pace is the value you should be at by now, based on the dates and values you set.

If you're on track, meaning your current progress is at least as far as the Pace line, the progress bar will be green. If not, it will be red. Keep it green to achieve your goal on time!

How do I delete a tracker?
Tap it, then Settings, scroll down, tap Delete Tracker and confirm.

How do I see my Archived trackers?
On the Reports tab, tap the filters icon in the top right and select Archived.

You can unarchive a tracker at the bottom of its Settings view.

How do I log with Siri?
For Habits, set a Siri Shortcut on their Settings view. Since Target & Average trackers require entering a number, create a custom shortcut in the Shortcuts app. To do that, create the tracker in Strides, then open the Shortcuts app and tap the + in the top right. Search for Strides, then choose Log Target or Average tracker, and select the one you want to log with Siri. Under Log Value choose Ask Each Time and give it a name, which is what you'll say to Siri when you want to log. Now, when you say that to Siri it will ask what value you want to log and you can reply with the number to log.

Reminders
Can I get reminders on specific days?
Yes. On the tracker's Settings view, tap Due and choose the days you'd like to log. Tap the Due field to change it to every X days, weeks, months, etc.

Next, go back and tap Reminders to add as many as you'd like to remind you on Due days.

Can I change the alert sound?
Yes. Open tap Settings in the top left, then Alert Sound to choose from 15 unique sounds.

Why aren't reminders working?
Here are some things that can prevent reminders:

1. In the Settings app, Notifications aren't enabled for Strides.
2. A tracker's Reminders aren't enabled, or its Due setting isn't set to get reminders today.
3. The tracker has already been logged before the reminder time.

Data & Sync
What devices does Strides support?
Strides is available for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, with an upcoming Mac app.

Is my data safe/private?
Yes! We don't sell data to other companies or advertisers. Your data is safe, and we have a transparent business model so we don't have to clutter up the interface with annoying ads. Our goal is to help you achieve yours, plain and simple. Here's our Privacy Policy.

Why do I see duplicates or nothing due?

Sorry about that. Sounds like this is a rare caching issue, in which case we could fix it like this:

1. In Strides, go to the Today view (close Settings if that's open).

2. Open Safari, enter or copy/paste strides://debug/menu in the address bar and hit enter, then open in Strides.

3. Tap "Recalculate All Daily Goal States"

4. Tap Done once the cell no longer looks tapped, which may take a few seconds.

If you need anything else, please reach out through the Rate/Feedback view in the app and I'll help out!

The widget isn't updating in real-time.
Removing it and adding it again might solve that. If not, please check that Background App Refresh is enabled for Strides in the Settings app. Beyond that, iOS determines when to update the widget data to preserve battery life, but in most cases the widgets should update soon after changes are made in the app.

Can I move my data to a new device?
Yes, you can transfer your old device's data to the new one during setup. Also, Strides Plus includes Sync & Backup so you can download the app on your new device and enable iCloud sync in Strides > Settings > Sync & Backup. If it wasn't already enabled on the original device you can enable it there first to sync the data to your iCloud account, then on the second device to sync.

My data isn't syncing to another device.
Is Sync & Backup enabled in Strides > Settings on the first device? Do you see have iCloud Drive enabled in the Settings app? Do you see data in Settings > iCloud > Storage > Strides? Is your iCloud storage full?

If all of that looks okay, try enabling Sync & Backup in Strides on the second device and waiting for it to sync. Note: If you have a lot of data it can take a while, so feel free to temporarily set Auto-Lock to Never in the Settings app, under Display & Brightness to give it time to sync. Once the data is all there it will sync each change very quickly. If it's still not syncing feel free to contact us so we can help.

Billing
Is it really free?
Yes! It's free forever to track your top three goals and habits.

How do you make money?
We don't distract with ads, sell data, or any other tricky stuff. Our business model is simple: If you're enjoying the free plan and would like even more value, you can upgrade to unlock some awesome premium features and support our small company so we can keep making Strides for you.

What do I get with the Plus plan?
Strides Plus unlocks everything:

- Unlimited goals & habits (removes the limit on the free plan)

- Sync between iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and an upcoming Mac app

- Data Backups to keep your progress safe

- Progress Reports for deeper insight into your goals

You can cancel anytime, and it's easy:

1. Open the App Store or Settings app.

2. Tap your picture at the top.

3. Tap Subscriptions, Strides, then change the plan.

How do I get Plus on another device?
If you have premium features on one device, but it's not working on another:

1. Make sure you're logged in to the App Store with the same Apple ID on both devices.

2. Tap Restore Purchases (below plans on Upgrade view) on the second device.

If that doesn't solve it, contact us and we'll be sure to get it working for you.

I'm not able to use Strides Plus features.
Sorry! Does tapping Restore Purchases under the plan buttons solve it?

If not, do you see Strides under Subscriptions in the App Store? Did you get a receipt email?

Also, are you signed in to the App Store with the same Apple ID used to upgrade? If so, please contact us and we'll take care of it for you. Thanks for your patience. Have a great day!
